If I get hired by
Dedicated Staffing Services, will I get paid by
them or the client I get placed with?

If you are hired under a temporary placement
option, you will be paid by
Dedicated Staffing Services. If you are hired
under a temp to perm placement option, you will be paid by
Dedicated Staffing Services for 3 months and
then be hired on by the client. If you are hired under a direct placement
option, you will be qualified by
Dedicated Staffing
Services but you will then be paid directly by the client.

If I take a job with
Dedicated Staffing Services, how do I get paid?

Dedicated Staffing
Services
runs a weekly payroll with payday being on the Friday
following the week you work. Your pay will either be delivered to the client
where you are working or you may pick it up at our office. We also offer
our employees the option of having their pay directly deposited into their
account.

How soon can you put me
to work?

It generally takes a couple of days to qualify
an employee with
Dedicated Staffing Services,
however we will do everything possible to ensure our employees are placed at
a client as soon as a placement becomes available in their field.

How have the
changes to the Employment Standards Act, affected Statutory Holiday pay
eligibility for Dedicated Staffing Employees (candidates)?

On November 23, 2000, the Ontario Provincial Government introduced Bill 147, the
Employment
Standards Act,
2000 (the "new Act"), which was proclaimed into law effective September 4th
2001.
Part X Employment Standards Act: Public holiday pay
a. 24. (1) An employee's public holiday pay for a given public holiday shall be
equal to, (a) the total amount of regular wages and vacation pay payable to the
employee in the four work weeks before the work week in which the public holiday
occurred, divided by 20; or (b) if some other manner of calculation is
prescribed, the amount determined using that manner of calculation. 2000,

Special Rules re: Employees Who May Elect to Work or Not
Section. 9 (k) of the regulations to the Act states that Part X of the Act does
not apply: "to a person who is employed under an arrangement whereby he or she
may elect to work or not when requested to do so."
c. There is no entitlement to a paid public holiday where an employee has an
arrangement where he or she may elect to work or not when requested to do so.
All employees working through a temporary service are classified as "elect to
work" employees.
